The Tilt and slide system is the complete hardware system that enables you to produce a high performance timber vertical sliding window, with the ability to tilt the sashes for external cleaning. Our balance accessories form the components needed to assemble with our Tilt and Slide Spiral, Ultralift and Torso balances. All parts can be purchased separately to renovate an existing system or together to manufacture a complete window.

- Components supplied are: Pivot shoe, Pivot bar Carrier, Pivot Bar with Shackle, Tilt Latch, Travel Stops, Tensioning Tool, Tilt Restrictor and Aluminium Channel.
Aluminium Channel:
- Mark 3 Aluminium channel rebates into the frame and houses the balance
- Supplied in 3m lengths – simply cut to the required size
- The channel has a groove on each end for weatherpile – use our 8.5mm Reddipile
- 4 channels are required per window (2 per sash)
Pivot Shoe:
- Pivot shoes attach to the bottom of the balance
- The window slides vertically when the sash is engaged in the channel
- Once the sash has been released, the pivot shoe allows the sash to tilt for cleaning
- 1 pivot shoe is required per balance (4 per window)
Pivot Bar Carrier:
- Attaches the side of the sash, located from the bottom edge upwards
- Assembles with the Pivot bar with shackle
- 4 Carriers required per window (2 per sash)
Pivot bar with Shackle:
- The pivot bar slides into the “sleeve” of the Pivot bar carrier
- The shackle fits into the Pivot shoe
- 1 Pivot bar per carrier (2 per sash)
Tilt latch:
- Fit to the top of the sash on either side and engage into the aluminium channel
- When engaged in the channel the sash will slide vertically
- Once released, the sash can be tilted for cleaning
- 4 latches per window (2 per sash)
Travel Stops:
- Protects the balances from under or over extension, prolonging the lifetime of the balance
- The upper travel stop fits at the bottom of the window and stops the top sash (220mm long)
- The lower travel stop fits at the top of the window and stops the bottom sash (130mm long)
- Travel stops clip into the front of the aluminium channel
- 2 lower travel stops and 2 upper travel stops required per window
Tensioning tool:
- The tensioning tool is used for adjusting the tension of tilt and slide balances only
- Tilt Restrictor:
- When tilting the sash, these restrict the movement to tilt no more than 45°
- There are 3 sizes available for different sash heights
- 4 required per window (2 per sash)
